Adding trailer wiring harness to any vehicle that has a hitch is a great idea and the CX-90 is no different. And the reason being is, you may be using this just for a bike rack or cargo carrier, but if you ever have to pull a small trailer for whatever reason, you wanna be able to hook up to it and be legal and safe. And that's what this is going to do. It's gonna transmit the light signals from your running lights, your turn signals and brake lights to the lights on your trailer. And luckily enough, this is actually a really easy installation to do by yourself. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2023 Mazda CX-30- Video

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the CURT four-pole wiring harness on your 2023 Mazda CX30. In order to use your wiring for this kit, all you have to do is open up the rear hatch, lift up your storage panel, pull your wiring out, and run it down to your trailer. And when you close your rear hatch, you just want to be sure to keep it far enough away from this latch so that it doesn't make contact with it. The weather seal here will protect the wiring and won't cause any damage, but when you get ready to hook up to a trailer, then your wiring's right here, you can connect to the trailer and it's gonna make you safe and legal when traveling down the road. Your four-pole wiring harness is gonna be your most common out on the road. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2022 Mazda CX-30- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing Tekonsha T1 Trailer wiring harness on a 2022 Mazda CX-30. If you plan on towing a trailer or if you have accessories with lights on them, having a four pole wiring is going to allow you to have your light signals, including your running lights, your brake lights and turn signals transfer to the trailer or accessories letting the people behind you know what you're doing and it's gonna keep you safe and legal. Now this is a pretty easy way to get wiring in because it snaps into factory connections of your taillights and just kind of jumpers in. Now with that, you are gonna need to run a power wire up to the battery and that's kind of where it gets a little bit tricky of just going underneath the car to run it. But overall, the installation is fairly easy and the great part about this is even though you're plugging into your factory wiring, it's module protected, so if you ever have a back feed from your trailer, it's not gonna fry any of the lights on your OEM harness. So that's really nice, you get a little piece of mind there and there's also a fuse to keep it protected as well. more

Now this customer has actually opted to use a bracket to mount it outside, but you can actually have this live inside your vehicle and you just kind of coil it up in the back and whenever you need to use it, you can simply drape it outside of your hatch and it's gonna be safe to use. Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Mazda CX-5- Video

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Trailer Wiring Harness here on our 2018 Mazda CX-5. So here you can see, we have the trailer connector secured to the safety-chain loops using the dust cap that comes in the kit here. So the dust cap, and again, it serves two functions, it allows us to secure the trailer connector and also helps protect the pins from any water getting in there causing any corrosion issues and affecting our lights. So the key connector provides us with a 4-way flat trailer connector. That's gonna be the most common, chances are most trailers that we're gonna be towing with our CX-5 are gonna have that type of connector. This one is gonna transmit the basic signals that we need to remain legal while out on the road. more

The Tekonsha does have a smaller module box which fits better behind your paneling, it's just easier to hide it and I liked that it does have the tab here at the top, so if there's an open stud or if you have an extra self-tapping screw you could attach it with the tab up there on the top instead of just with the adhesive pad that comes included. more

It is a four-pole flat trailer connector that is designed to live inside the vehicle. When you're ready to use it, it drapes out the back. What I like about this is that it protects your harness from the elements when it's not in use, and then when you're ready to use it, you can just pull it out. Some people seem to think that hanging it out over the back here is going to cause damage to the wiring, but the weatherstripping there does have plenty of space in it, to where it's not going to crush the wiring, and the weather strip actually kind of clamps it just enough to hold it in place, to keep it from sliding around. more

Bob: Bob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole flat trailer connector on our 2019 Mazda CX9. Now our Tekonsha wiring is going to give us a 4-pole flat trailer connector and where we have all the required lights to get down the road safely. Whether we're towing a trailer or we have some other kind of hitch mounted accessory that uses lights, our wiring is here to provide us our taillight signal, our turn signals and our brake lights. One thing I do want to mention is we chose to mount our wiring on the outside of the vehicle close to the hitch so it's easily accessible and ready for us. And we're also using a 4-pole bracket to mount it so it's nice and secure, but our bracket is not included with the wiring. Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Mazda CX9, we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package with a four pole side trailer connector. That's part number 118278.Here's what our wiring looks like once we have it installed. I do want to mention we did use a bracket to mount our wiring more permanently outside by our hitch, because, traditionally, our wiring is meant to stay on the inside of the vehicle. Our wiring is going to provide us with the four-pole flat trailer connector to get us all the lights we need to safely and legally get down the road with our trailer, like our tail lights, turn signals, and our stop lights.Our wiring is going to plug directly into an existing plug that's on our vehicle already. Our wiring's also going to have a converter box to convert those signals into working signals to go out to our trailer. Also, to protect our wiring and our vehicle from any kind of back feeding or problems that may arise on the trailer end. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Mazda CX-9- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Mazda CX-9, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 56016.Here's what our wiring looks like fully installed, and it's going to give us all the required lights to tow our trailer down the road, including our clearance lights, turn signals, and brake lights. When we're not towing it, it's going to store nicely out of the way right here in our spare tire compartment. Whenever we are ready to use it, as you saw, we can just pull it out, drape it down, and hook it up to our trailer.Now that we've seen how our wiring looks after it's installed, let's go show you how we got it installed.To begin our installation, we're going to open up our rear hatch, and we're going to need to remove the floor covering right here. So we can simply just fold up, and then we're going to have to pull this panel out underneath where our spare tire tools are. We come to this cover back here and we lift up and actually take the whole cover and we're going to set it aside. We're also going to need to remove this cover as well, and we'll set it aside too.On each end of our cargo area, right towards the back of our hatch, we're going to have these cargo hooks. more

Now, with our Curt here, they do provide us with some double-sided foam tape, so we're going to need to find a flat surface that we can mount this to. The Tekonsha also provides us with some double-sided foam tape, but we also have the option of having this tab right here. We can either zip tie it or take a self-tapping screw and firmly secure it to a flat area. The Hopkins does not provide us with any double-sided tape, but there is holes on each side of our converter box, so we can zip tie it to a flat surface as well.One other thing I like about the Tekonsha is you can see there's an epoxy-type material right here where the wires are coming in from my converter box, and that's going to be a potting material. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best custom-fit vehicle wiring harnesses available for the 2015 Mazda CX5. Now all of the wiring harnesses that we have here today are all going to offer the four-pole flat trailer connector. That's going to power the right turn and brake, left turn and brake, running lights, and also it grounds out the system on the trailer. We've got our CURT here. This is a non-powered converter box.
